Position Summary

 SpectrumVoIP is looking for a successful Area Sales Manager (ASM) to recruit and manage a direct business to business sales team. The ASM is responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and coaching of a team of between 5 and 8 Account Executives. To include all aspects of selling and sales within assigned territory. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for measuring, overseeing, and holding their team accountable for daily activity. The role requires strong leadership skills with a proven ability to deliver results. This position will report directly to the EVP of Sales. 

New market penetration requires a leader to provide individual sales contribution while building the new team around him or herself. As the leader makes individual sales, and new hires come abord and start to produce, the Area Sales Manager position will then focus primarily on team sales rather than individual sales. 

Essential Job Functions
  • Master the SpectrumVoIP Sales Organization’s SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Provide necessary business sales metrics to the EVP of Sales
  • Continue to build and strengthen team through recruiting, hiring, and development strategies
  •  Support, train, coach, and hold account executives accountable for production
  • Oversee day-to-day activity and monitor team’s individual performance goals
  • Document and manage leads, contacts, opportunities, and tasks, within in
  • Drive phone cold calling, networking, & door to door prospecting activity
  • Maniacally manage both Funnel & Pipeline velocity – attend weekly Funnel / Pipeline review with Sales Leadership
  • Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and guidance through weekly 1:1s
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure the team is meeting pipeline expectations
  • Work with sales representatives to strategize and establish next steps for promoting leads
  • Ensure adherence and compliance related to adoption & data integrity
  • Proactively identify key opportunities for sales strategy and process improvement
  • Stay current with product & services, industry intelligence, & prospective needs/ desires
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with sales metrics and reporting within Salesforce and Excel 
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding against quota and outlined metrics 
  • Deep understanding of individual team member strengths, weaknesses, motivators, demotivators 
  • Ability to leverage that insight to teach, train, and inspire, unique individuals 
  • Powerful written and verbal communication skills, including face to face and or over the phone 
  • Flexibility to work unpredictable hours in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple needs at once 
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills combined with strong business acumen 
  • Critical thinking skills to understand issues and drive towards applicable outcomes 
  • Highly self-driven with desire to provide a superior level of accuracy, consistency, and work quality 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with leaders at all levels as a team

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or degree from an accredited college/university 
  • Or a combination of work experience and education 
  • Proven track record of 8+ years of sales results and sales program development 
  • Cold calling experience required 
  • Strong desire to expand and acquire new skills 
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales management experience 
  • Demonstrated success in leading a team of Sales Representatives in telecommunications 
  • Proficiency utilizing CRM systems preferably 
  • Proven track record of success in building up a sales team 
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and balance team and individual workloads 
  • Through effective time management, prioritization, and organization skills 
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in new business development strategies and lead qualification
