Position Summary

The Small Market Business (SMB) Account Executive is responsible for prospecting and selling new business within their assigned territory. Requires 3+ years of business to business (B2B) outside sales experience. The SMB Account Executive is someone with a prodigious work ethic together with an energetic outgoing personality; including a proven track record of closing sales and exceeding sales quota within their industry. The SMB Account Executive must adopt SpectrumVoIP’s structured sales process that includes methodical, disciplined, CRM (Salesforce.com) documentation of all cold calling, networking, and self-generated campaigns employed to generate face to face prospective customer meetings for the purpose of presenting SpectrumVoIP to win business. The SMB Account Executive reports directly to their Area Sales Manager. 

Essential Job Functions 
  • Prospecting to set appointments, including but not limited to; o Creating a list of ideal prospects of small & medium business owners in your market and implementing a methodical campaign of calls, emails and social media connections to secure appointments (includes logging all such activity in salesforce.com) 
    • Developing a personal network of Referral Partners and Customer Referrals for the purpose of securing appointments (documenting all such activity in salesforce.com) 
    • Networking through networking events and networking groups, leveraging your networking associates for assistance in securing appointments with customer prospects (documenting all such activity in salesforce.com) 
    • Cold call door-knocking including clover-leafing of businesses around any appointments attended and targeting specific areas in your market what have a high concentration of Ideal candidates for SpectrumVoIP (documenting all such activity in salesforce.com) 
    • Mastery level experience in sales funnel and sales pipeline management 
  • Adept at submitting activity reports, such as call logs, and market strategy plans. 
  • Monitors competition, marketplace pricing, competitor products, and overall trends. 
  • Negotiates new account and existing account contract/purchase order renewals 
  • Travel occurs 25%-50% of the time in designated sales territory; some overnight travel may be required. 
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Possess strong business acumen with proven ability to influence a broad range of decision makers 
  • Goal oriented with a proven ability to handle multiple priorities 
  • Mastery of Telecommunications Technologies 
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environment with ability to learn quickly and think analytically 
  • Regularly maintains a consummate Professional Demeanor 
  • Working knowledge of sales concepts, methods and techniques 
  • MS Office and Salesforce.com (or CRM) experience. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent & relevant work-related experience. 
  • 2+ years of business to business (B2B) outside sales experience preferably in the telecommunications industry 
  • Valid public liability and property damage insurance that is compliance with statutory requirements required 
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently, as well as part of a team 
  • Must have viable remote home office with laptop computer and internet access. 
  • Proven track record of networking and prospecting new clients 
  • A valid driver’s license required.
